Grant Bosnick is a producer, director, composer, drummer and percussionist. Orginally hailing from Toronto, Canada, Grant has now been living in Asia for 22 years, basing himself out of Tokyo for 17 years and 5 years in Singapore. Having played drums and percussion for over 35 years, he has toured North America, recorded 13 albums and produced two compilations. He founded Atitlan Industries, a production company for releasing recorded music and producing live multicultural interdisciplinary shows, including for the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo and for Apple.

He has worked on several collaborative projects: telling the story of 2 drums – Low Tom and High Tom – as they travel the world collaborating with other drums; combining syncopated polyrhythms, tribal beats, funky grooves and The Art of Drum Zen with psychedelic ambient soundscapes and oriental melodies in Planetary Brothers; and exploring the neuroscience of drumming and the powerful effects it has on the brain.

“My birth-given name is EJUKU which, coincidentally, also means “to push” in Ateso my native language. I personally chose to be a citizen of the world, lover of love, lover of behavior studies, dance and music (my second voice). The uncontrollable and disorganized sounds in my head have always given me itchy fingers, one of those that will only seize when I Beeeeattttt my drum and making beats is definitely something that has elevated me to understand the impact ART can have on one's mental health, environment and cultural heritage.”
