The Art of Listening (Charu Eliza Hermsdorf)
Time & Location
About the Event
In this mini brief time together I will invite you to explore your capacity for listening, for resonating, for feeling and experiencing yourself and the other.
We will do so by practicing to move away from self-oriented, reactive responses towards a space, in which we are simply present and open.
We can support each other in this learning process by sharing stories and experiences that were or presently are difficult for us. These can be conflicts or situations that triggered you or are triggering you.
When exploring the question “What is keeping me from being able to listen?” we need to take a deeper look at our triggers and defence mechanisms and our responses to them.
By listening to one another and sharing what we perceive, we can offer one another deep relief, clarity and support.
Born and raised in Berlin, I have travelled much and experienced many different cultures and ways and forms of living together. I have been inspired to co-found and run a center for Conscious Living on Mallorca (DIMA Mallorca) in which offering the experience of living together in Community was a focus. During this time I learnt and observed our human behaviour and communication and experienced a common fear of conflicts and a lack of ability for dealing with them.
In 2016 I began my training and have been working as a mediator since. The mediative approach has brought and continues to bring a clarity and freshness to my relations and communications which enriches my life.
Apart from offering mediation I feel that the essence of the approach can be learnt and practiced, which is why in addition to mediating, I began working as a trainer offering seminars and workshops in Berlin.
The tools are simple and it is my passion to bring them into the world through trainings in which communication is experienced.
